After a five year hiatus, Edguy mastermind and symphonic metallurgist Tobias Sammet has dusted off his Avantasia nameplate to release the long-anticipated follow up to Metal Opera I and Metal Opera II, the complimentary epics he released in 2001 and 2002. But Sammet’s latest project, The Scarecrow, is even more ambitious than the duelling blockbusters he birthed earlier this decade.Just read the list of participants to get an idea of the scope we’re talking about here: Kiss’s Eric Singer on drums and vocals, guest vocals from Amanda Somerville, Jorn Lande, the immortal Alice Cooper, Roy Khan, Oliver Hartmann, Michael Kiske, and Bob Catley, plus guest guitar work from Scorpions axe-slayer Rudolf Schenker.
