Slax is a modern, small and fast Linux operating system with a modular approach and outstanding design. Despite its small size, Slax provides a wide collection of pre-installed software for daily use, including a well organized graphical user interface and useful recovery tools for system administrators.
You can get Slax in several formats. Slax for CD is distributed as an ISO image. Burn it to a CD using a special menu option in your burning software, it's usually labeled 'burn CD iso image'. Slax for USB is distributed as a TAR archive. Simply unzip it to your USB device and run bootinst.bat (or bootinst.sh) to make it bootable.
